I'm Almost Myanmar Bound!

Hello! My name is Jaimis Ulrich. I am currently an undergradate student of Anthropology and Religious Studies at Whittier College. Part of my own personal commitment to understanding different people and different cultures is to take every opportunity I can to "get out there" and immerse myself in cultural events and places different from that of which I am familiar. This has primarily included seeking out arts and culture in the United States.
Recently, I was given the opportunity to apply for a Study Abroad program called "Sacred Spaces" which will take place in Myanmar. It is with joy that I can say I was accepted into the program, but unfortunately I am still in a financial bind. As an undergrad, I work two minimum wage jobs on campus in addition to holding a Mellon Mays Fellowship, which requires extensive hours of research. The Study Abroad program cost is a little over $3,000, but I have managed to pay $1,600 of it on my own (this may not sound like a lot, but I get no other financial assistance other than financial aid and scholarships from school-which I am extremely grateful for-and I pay my own bills and rent, of course!) So, I'm slightly proud of myself for putting a dent into my balance :)
Seeking public sponsorship was my last resort, as I was determined to do as much of this, if not all of it, as I could on my own...mostly because I know there are many others out there who could use the help just as much as I can, but, alas! I do need help! I can attach a resumé and CV if you would like a better understanding of who I am as a student researcher :)
As with all things, a little can go a long way. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience or annoyance this may bring you, but please know that it is with a grateful heart that I ask for your help and I ask of it with my own promise to give back.
