Help Jaden Retrain His Brain

Donation protected

I am here seeking help for my 15-year-old son Jaden.  Jaden has ADHD and non-verbal learning disabilities that have had a major negative impact on his academic progress as well as his social life.

 Learning Issues
Learning is tough for kids who have difficulty paying attention.  But it's even harder when other pathways in the brain also aren't working properly. Jaden’s brain doesn’t process and retain certain information in the same way as a "normal" person’s does.  He tries hard but often falls behind in class, and then gets discouraged and loses motivation.  His grades reflect how difficult it is for him to learn in the standard classroom.

No Social Life
Jaden's ADHD has also created difficulties in relating to his peers. As a result, he has become a loner at a time when teenagers are usually all about being with their friends. People – especially young people – need friends. Yet he won’t take part in social activities at school such as clubs, sports teams, or dances, because he feels different, like he doesn't belong.

It breaks my heart to see him so alone and underachieving! I’m worried sick about his future.  And none of it is his fault.

There is Hope!
Medications, tutoring and extra resources at school have provided some support, but they have not helped Jaden overcome his learning difficulties.  In my desperate search for ways to help him, I've learned of an acclaimed private school in Vancouver that specializes in retraining brains like Jaden's to function normally.  Their programs are designed to help students build new neurological pathways in the brain. Yes, we can change our brains!

Unfortunately, tuition is expensive... and as a single working parent, I can barely make ends meet each month.  I can't possibly afford this on my own. Reaching out to caring people is the only recourse I have right now.

That is why I am asking for your help to make it possible for Jaden to attend Eaton Arrowsmith School as a part-time, after-school student in their Cognitive Enhancement Program...to start him on the road to becoming a happy, social, and productive member of society.

The school has interviewed and tested him, and they’ve accepted him for January 2018. That’s the good news. The bad? That’s not very much time to raise money for the tuition!

Can you help to make this positive change in Jaden's life?  He is so excited about starting the journey to get his brain to work better! And I am so hopeful that with this program, and with your help to get him there, this very bright child will be able to reach his full potential!  Together, we can all be the wind beneath his wings!
Jaden and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any contribution you can make!
