The world lost a beautiful person when Jacinta Martin was shot and killed on June 28, 2016.
A senseless act of violence robbed her young children of a wonderful mother. It shattered the dreams of a new beginning in the marriage to her fiance that was just weeks away. It broke the hearts of her mother, sisters and extended family and friends.
I was her son's Sunday school teacher last year, which is how I met the family. The Martins are very active in our small church. They have been instrumental in the youth programs at Hosanna Lutheran Church. I cannot possibly convey how much the congregation cherishes the entire family.
This fund is to offset the costs of funeral arrangements, but I am hoping that it will grow to be much more than that. We can come together and lift the financial burden on this family so that they can focus on healing emotionally. I would love to see this fund grow to an amount that would help cover the costs of raising Jacinta's children and even cover college tuition for her children. $15000.00 is just a starting point. I have seen GoFundMe accounts reach hundreds of thousands of dollars...Let's show this family...these children...that they are NOT alone.
We cannot possibly take away the pain of such a great loss, but we can ease the burden a little. $5 is the cost of a cup of coffee at starbucks. $5 doesn't seem like much, but when a 1000 people donate $5 it makes a huge difference. Donate what you can, and if you really just cannot afford to help financially, there are STILL ways you can help....you can SHARE this on your social media account or in an email.
