Justice For James!

On June 6th 2017,  Everyone in our house said goodnight and went to bed. Our normal routine. It was a bit late than normal though.  May have even been the early hours of June 7th.  We had been night fishing and everyone was exhausted.  James got a drink out of the fridge smiled at me like he always does and went to get in bed, Or so I thought. See James who we call Jamie is Autistic and he is Deaf. Jamie Has the mind of a 15 year old boy.  He can read lips but only if he knows you very well and has learned how you talk.  For some reason Jamie decided he wanted to go on a bike ride. We do not know the reasons why, or what was going through his mind. See Jamie loves to ride his bike and does this VERY often!  On Wensday Morning we woke up. Jamie isnt usually up until noon, so it wasent really a big surprise when we had not seen him. He has his own little home on our property, where I have worked with him to live on his own with my assistance.  However by 2pm I went to check on him.  Usually by than he had came in and told me Good Morning. He wasent there. Now mind you this is pretty normal of Jamie to get on his bike and take off, Thinking he had went to the store, I drove down to the store which is a very short distance away to check on him. He wasent there. He was no where.  I searched all day Wensday for him, going places I knew he would go.  Nothing. I called the Police.  By 3am on Thursday morning a Silver Alert was Issued, with Jamies picture.  Lots of tips came in and I followed each one. We drove to Payton, Prague, Meeker, Mcloud, Harrah, Choctaw, Midwest City, Shawnee.....No Luck. Staying in touch with the Pott Co. Officers the entire time.  Who I might add are AMAZING!  Around 9pm we got the call that they thought they may have tracked Jamie down. I rushed home and started calling hospitals to find out just where he was and what had happend.   When he was admitted to the hospital they did not put his last name in right so when we called, they did not have any one by Jamies name, Just his birthdate. We finally found out he was Transported from Harrah, To OU Medical Center Early Wensday morning, We headed to OU. Not yet knowing, why or what had happend, to Jamie. I walked into the hospital, and found Jamie. As I opened the door,  His smile lit up. He had a HUGE gash on his head. I asked him what happend? He said a car hit me.  The nurse than walked in, and asked who I was. I explained to her who I was, Hesitant she told me what injuries he had.  Bleeding in his lungs,  A rip in his Kidney, A broken Leg, A dislocated Shoulder, Road Rash on his back side and of course the Gash on his head, all Injuries that are associated when you have been hit by a car. Again I called Pott. Co and the officer I had been working with.  He advised me to call Harrah and find out exactly what happend and to make a hit and run report. I called Harrah Dispatch, they had the officer that found Jamie call me.  He said he had found Jamie in a ditch when he seen a bike in the road.  He did not know Jamie was Deaf or Autistic, so when He asked Jamie if he was hit, Jamie told him no,  he fell off his  bike. What we are thinking happend was Jamie was riding his bike late at night when he says two cars one going each way came up on him, it blinded him and he fell off the bike and when he did he was hit. However the driver that hit  him never stopped.  The Harrah officer told me he was going to go back to the scene and get the bike. However when he called me back he explained to me that the bike was gone.  I called back Pott. Co, and told them what I had just been told. As I hung up with the officer, One of the nurses was going into a nother door, She looked at me and said I need to know what your plans are, I looked at her confused and said what do you mean? She said visiting hours ended at 9:30 and we allowed you to stay for a little bit. I said we are just trying to get anwsers on exactly what happend because we have had a silver alert out for him since 3am on Thursday morning. She looked at me and said well you got all the anwsers you are gonna get tonight you need to leave or go stay in the waiting room.  I am going to go check on this patient when I get back I expect a anwser from you of what you are going to do, or you need to be gone. Floored I went back into Jamies room, explained to him I would be back on Friday, and left.  I am sure in time more will come out and I will update as it does.  We are setting up this go fund me, in hopes we can raise enough money to offer a reward for more information on what happend that night, to get Jamie a new bike, and have something made Jamie can wear if something happens to him, who needs to be contacted and his disabilities.  Of course it will be a while before he can even think about getting on a nother bike, but this is what he loves to do and was very concerned and upset that his bike was left out there. He kept saying I need to go get my bike someone is going to steal it!  Every penny helps and the more we can raise, the more the reward we can offer, and hopefully someone will come forward with information, so we have anwsers and can make sure who ever did this, Pays for what they did. If that Harrah Officer had not found him that morning, we may be asking you for help with a funeral, so we are thanking god that is not the case.  Thank you for taking the time to read our Story and God Bless!
