Joielle Johnson-Free's Nevus Fund

Joielle Johnson-Free was born on December 2, 2013, just seven days before her grandfather, NBA All star player, World B. Free's birthday December 9, 1953. Her parents, Jarrett and Charina Johnson-Free were so excited about their new addition to their family. To their unexpected surprise, Joielle was born with a very rare skin condition known as Congenital Melanocytic Nevus which covered approximately 75% of her body. Joielle was taken to the NICU for further examination.
While in the NICU, the Johnson-Free's learned that Joielle would need to undergo a series of surgeries that would continue throughout her high school years. Joielle was seen by many specialists, who informed the Johnson-Free's that this CMN can develop into Melanoma, a very serious, deadly skin cancer. In efforts to try to prevent this from happening, their child would need to have the CMN removed as early as 6 months of age. At this time Joielle has not had any procedures done.
Unfortunately, the specialist that Joielle would need to see does not accept the medical insurance that her parents have through the state of New Jersey. The insurance company also would not cover her required very needed doctor visits to many of the specialist due to the need of an out of network authorization, which the state insurance does not allow. Financially, the Johnson-Free family can not afford to pay for Joielle's medical care which is very expensive.
Joielle is one of six of the Johnson-Free's children. She also is the only one of their children born with CMN. Although Joielle is a stranger to many who may read this, we, the Johnson-Free's ask that you help support our beloved child Joielle Christina Johnson-Free to receive the very necessary surgeries and medical care she requires.
