Jayla Jacobs is 9 years old. She wants to be an Exotic Animal Veterinarian. Jayla believes that ANYTHING is possible. She doesn't look at Cystic Fibrosis as a Life Limiting thing, she views it as an opportunity to use EVERY gift God has given her. She wasn't diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis until she was 5 years old after we had a near death experience with her (Pneumonia and permanent Lung Damage). Since her diagnosis, she has been thriving better, because she has a LIFE VEST "JACKET" machine and very expensive medications that she takes 3 times a day to keep her lungs cleared. She has 4 older brothers, 1 at UNC Chapel Hill, 1 in High School, 1 in Middle School, and the one that she considered her guardian angel passed away unexpectedly at the age of 12 due to an unknown HEART DEFECT. She has decided to carry on her brother Gabriel Michael Jacobs' legacy of love by doing Random Acts of Kindness and helping those that get bullied (Gabesheartfoundation.org). Jayla missed 19 days of school this year due to her hospital stay regarding Cystic Fibrosis. When she returned to school, she performed so well that she received 6 academic and behavior awards and received the Principal's award. We want Jayla's life on this Earth to be as long and as fulfilling as God allows. Please help us cover the cost of this equipment and hospital bills. Jayla can't get another VEST for her outrageously expensive LIFE VEST machine until the bill is fully paid. Everything you do will help and is appreciated.
