Help Start My Infant Aquatics Business

About 3 years ago I was living in Denver, CO working as a Nanny for a 12 month and 16 month old. That fall and winter I had to take the kids for swim lessons at Infant Aquatics of Denver. Never before had I seen something so remarkable, kids as young as 6 months old were learning to swim and float in the pool. As the fall rolled on and the kids kept going for their lessons I got to know the instructor pretty well and expressed my interest in wanting to bring this type of program back home to TX when my time in Denver was up. Long story short, the Denver instructor put me in contact with the founder of Infant Aquatics in Boulder, CO. Fast forward 3 years to present day and I am ready to dive in and make this happen. A bit about my background. I graduated from Texas Tech in 2003 with a Bachelors in Human Development and family studies specializing in early childhood. I have always had a love for the water and competed on the swim team at an early age. After graduation I worked as a pre-school teacher and two years later was promoted to Director. After my time as a Director at the Children's Center of Austin I moved on to pursue an opportunity as a private Nanny. Which brings me now to my new path. I truly feel dedicating myself to this swim program will make Austin a safer community. According to the Center of Disease Control drowning is the second leading cause of accidental injury or death for young children ages 1 to 4. Research has shown taking part in formal swimming lessons reduces the risk of drowning among children in the same age category.
For the past 5 months I have been working on putting together my business plan, and making sure all the pieces of the puzzle were coming together. My plan was to acquire a loan from a local non-profit agency that specializes in helping small business get started; only to find out that they don't fund the cost of any training or certifications. So that brings me here. I am hoping all the parents out there can see the need for such a life saving program and can help me to get things started. I am all set to leave in just about a month to begin my training but need to raise the money to get me there and trained!
