Spike and Crown Studios is made of people of color dedicated to the art of storytelling. Speaking truth to power as our experiences as minority Americans, we have stories that seek to empower others, inspire women, and entertain everyone regardless of where you're from.
We all work 9 to 5 jobs to make ends meet, but we love film making. Donating to our GoFundMe will help support us in a variety of ways:
o Granting exposure to minority film projects to help us break into the mainstream. We're also proud Americans that want to share our art, but we don't feel like there are enough people who look like us on screen. If you feel like Hollywood needs more representation, we can use your help.
o Paying for Festival and Contest fees. A single film when entered to only a handful (literally 5!) of festivals can cost as much as $300 dollars. Giving us exposure and a fair shot at the limelight means that we can show the world the films we worked so hard to bring to life.
o Equipment Fees and Time/Effort. We would LOVE to do this as a living, but many of us still have to pay for our rent and usually spend out of our pockets to get short films made. Your donation will help us make better films to stand out in our screenings and film festivals to come.
o Supporting Diversity in Hollywood. Ultimately, your donation will help us tell more stories about women and people of color, stories that YOU relate to and that YOU want to hear. We're a small group of determined individuals and want to make you proud!
