India's COVID-19 Crisis: Help us Save Lives

Friends, neighbors, and fellow concerned civilians, we need your help with a crisis the entire world is witnessing in real-time. The surge of COVID-19 deaths in India; from lack of oxygen, to new variants, to lack of hospital resources, has made it the GLOBAL EPICENTER for the virus. India has confirmed more than 16 million cases with more than 5,000 people dying daily from COVID-19, according to official numbers - but these official death count numbers fail to take into account the lives that are being lost across rural communities and remote villages. India's Crisis is the World's Crisis, being that ninety-two developing nations rely on India, home to the Serum Institute, the world’s largest vaccine maker, for the doses to protect their own populations. That is why we have an obligation as human beings, and as Indian-American immigrants, to speak out and help our people how we can.

HOW CAN YOU HELP: We need to raise funds for OXYGEN, VENTILATORS & DEFIBRILLATORS. There are no consumer protection laws in India, and community hospitals do not have the resources to pay for the skyrocketing cost of ventilators. We need your help to raise money to send to Golden Hospital so they can buy ventilators, oxygen, PPE (masks, shields, gowns) and more.

THE COST PER VENTILATOR is Five Lac Fifty-Thousand Rupees or about $6,600 per unit.

THE COST PER DEFIBRILLATOR is Ninety-Thousand Rupees or about $1,200 per unit.

THE COST FOR PPE for the front-line hospital staff is One Hundred and Fifty thousand rupees or $2,000 (mask + shield + gown per day for ALL staff).

We are connected on the ground with doctors and frontline medical staff at Golden Hospital, located in rural Palwal, Haryana, about 30 miles away from New Delhi. Golden Hospital is affiliated Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana of the Government of India with a goal to provide free access to healthcare for 500-million people across the Country. With the situation in Delhi being so dire, mass amounts of people from the Delhi metro-area are seeking life saving treatment in Palwal, but community hospitals do not have multiple ventilators or oxygen tanks to provide this treatment. Community hospitals like Golden Hospital, in the Ayushman Bharat network, are operating 24/7 and working directly with low-income people to provide them no cost treatment. But they are seeing their resources depleted on a daily basis, and need resources NOW to save lives. The team of doctors we are connected with are working hands-on (often with shortage of PPE) to treat double- and even triple-mutant strains of the virus, and the body count is insurmountable.
