Early this morning, October 23, 2025, my best friend Jessica lost her mom, Jayne Wiley — the woman my kids lovingly called “Ms. Jayne.”

Jessica has no remaining family — her mom was truly her entire world. Now, she’s left facing the unimaginable: saying goodbye to the person who was her only family, while also trying to cover the cost of cremation, a memorial service, and other immediate expenses that come with such a painful loss.

Ms. Jane was so much more than a mother and educator — she was sharp, witty, and filled with the kind of sarcasm that made you laugh even on your worst day. She loved her daughter and the people she welcomed into her life like family. To my children, she was another grandmother. To me, she was a second mom in every way that mattered.

I’m starting this GoFundMe to help Jessica through this heartbreak and to make sure Ms. Jane is honored the way she deserves to be. Every donation — no matter the size — will go directly toward her final arrangements and help relieve some of the financial stress during this devastating time.
