Our family's house was damaged by a chimney fire on Jan 19th. We heard crackling and knocking coming from the ceiling, and we evacuated and called 911. The Fire Dept cut a hole in our ceiling to put it out, but had to return 30 minutes later and cut a hole in the roof to put the insulation in the ceiling fully out. I have water damage in my living room and smoke damage throughout most of the house.
I am asking for help in any way that you can. If you can offer services or supplies, they will be accepted as well. The living room has to be demo'ed, and rafters, drywall, and a section of roof has to all be replaced or repaired. The house has to be fully cleaned and deodorized as well. [UPDATE 2-3-12: Since the time of this posting on the night of the fire, our community church has donated labor and materials to repair the structural damage to the house. We can't thank them enough, and our hearts and prayers stay with them all.]
