Save My House

I am trying to save my house.  I was laid off in 2017. The company I worked for lost some business, and had to cut back. Rather than take unemployment in January, I began to take freelance jobs in IT and Sound Production.  This gave me more than unemployment would have, and kept me from taking from the government, but was not enough to pay the entire mortgage. I used savings and various jobs to keep afloat until the summer.  However, I am now facing foreclosure IN SEVEN DAYS!

While I have some good job prospects, I am currently too far behind with the mortgage to catch up in the time allotted. I need to raise the money for the mortgage by 3PM THIS FRIDAY (4/20/18), but do NOT want to put anyone out.

So I came up with this idea.  I have spent many hours each year volunteering for various local and national non-profit, community organizations. A big part of my life is giving back to the community.  So what if I asked my friends, relatives and even complete strangers, for some help?

WITH AN IMPORTANT CAVIAT: I would ask for donations to keep my house, and in return, I will donate an equal amount to WHATEVER CHARITY YOU SUPPORT.  I will pay the money “back” to any charity you identify within 48 months of new employment. I could crowdsource to save my house…AND also give something to the organizations you care about. Every dollar you gave would do double duty!

So, here we are, the First Day of September. I need to raise $30,110 in the next 5 days. If you can give to the cause, and tell me what cause YOU love, I will pledge to give back to your organization within 48 months of landing one of the jobs for which I am currently interviewing.

If just 1000 of my friends/relatives/associates could see fit to give me $30/each, we would make the goal.  My house would be saved. And you would be giving back to whatever charity is currently in your heart. Anything over the goal amount will go to make a car payment or to an unexpected additional charge. And EVERY DOLLAR WILL BE GIVEN AGAIN.  Talk about paying it forward....
