I would like to thank everyone for their support on my journey so far.. battling this condition has not been fun or easy. As most of you know, I recently had a laparoscopic procedure done to remove the current endometriosis on my uterus. Unfortunately, that plan did not work out so well. My ovaries had fused themselves to my uterus, their were so many endo lesions that I was bleeding into my stomach, and the endometriosis has spread to my bowels. My surgeon was not able to remove much..
I am only 25 years old and I will have to have a full hysterectomy within the next month. A piece of me is so relieved, because I will not longer suffer from the pain. But the larger piece of me is devastated.. I will not be able to carry a child of my own, like I have always dreamed I would.. I will most likely feel empty and broken, at least until I learn to live with it. I will also have to be on hormone therapy.
Due to the severity of the hysterectomy procedure, I will have to be on bed rest for 4-6 weeks. I am a hairstylist and I work for myself, so financially, I am terrified. Without proper planning, I will lose my business and my career that I have built for myself.
The previous purpose of this GoFundMe was to help pay for my surgery fees (Which, THANK YOU ALL WHO DONATED TO THE FUND AND IN PERSON!!) This time around, I am asking for help to fund any surgical fees, my personal bills, and to keep my business open.. I have roughly a month or so to prepare this time, so I am very hopeful!
Also, I am starting a separate fundraiser for anyone interested.. I have ordered silicone bracelets. They are yellow (for endometriosis awareness) and read THIS IS NOT THE "ENDO" ME #supportashleygordon They will be on sale for at least $3 each (higher donations welcome) and will be available for purchase starting August 31st!
