Our house sits on 5 acres, but is only 1600 sqft, so on nights when we have 25 kids we will have kids in our living room, dining area and kitchen, crowding in to hear the message. This is why we are in the process of building a dedicated, multi-purpose building for these kids.
STAGE 1 -- Our footing and 30 x 40 concrete pad have been poured. We added a 16 x 12 entry way, that we did not have as a part of the original plans, but it felt was a necessary space for our leaders to greet kids and for everyone to hang up their coats, before entering the main building.
STAGE 2 -- We have framed the entry way and started the siding. We have placed the steel posts on the main building and we are in the process of framing the main building. Once the siding is complete we will be finished with stage 2 and will be working on the electrical, finish plumbing and HVAC, which is STAGE 3.
As a non-profit church, House On The Rock will use this multi-purpose building for:
-- Our Wednesday kids Bible study
-- an ACTIVITY center through out the week
-- We will have TUTORING classes for kids that need help after school.
-- We will move our music lessons into this building and have a stage so kids can do mini-performances of songs they are learning in music class.
-- Host LIFE SKILLS classes where kids can learn basic HEALTHY COOKING classes.
-- AND it will also help us to expand on Sunday morning, to have a place for the parents to come for an adult Bible study.
Since this is all being done on a CASH BASIS, STAGE 1 and STAGE 2's funds have been raised and we are in the process of raising what we need for STAGE 3. We have had great help from our young people and from 3 men that have donated their time to help with the framing and siding.
House On The Rock Church is a non-profit organization and your support is greatly appreciated. Please take the time to help, in whatever way you can. . .
-- Any amount will help
-- And we will keep posting video progress reports as we build.
Many people have wondered why this building project is taking so long, and the reason is my wife and I are doing everything ourselves. Time is very limited with both of us working full time jobs. We also feel that if a child is in need of extra time and needs to talk that the relationships with these kids is far more important than a building.
Thank you for your support!
