Homegoing celebration for EJ

Donation protected
I never imagined that my first GoFundMe campaign would be because of a tragedy.  I just knew it would be a community building campaign, something meant to change the world. But here we are. Here I am, reaching out to the same community I wanted to help build to ask them to come together for our own.  A friend, a brother, a son and most special to him...a father. Our brother Eric McClellan needs us.

Imagine planning for your son's 8th birthday party two weeks away only to receive a phone call that your mother and your son were killed in a train accident and you must identify their bodies. Unimaginable. This is Eric's reality today and moving forward. As his mother was driving his son EJ to school, their lives were cut short. Imagine all of the what ifs, the shouldve couldve wouldves and then realize that this cant be undone. No one, I repeat, no one should have to bury their child. Especially, not one so young and in such a tragic way.

EJ was full of life and energy and most importantly, he was fearless.  He wasn't scared of anything or anyone because of the support and confidence instilled in him by his father. He wanted to go everywhere and try everything and his father would be right by his side cheering him on during his short journey here. A father who due to another tragic incident was left to be a single dad. You see, a short time after giving birth to him, EJ's mother had a routine surgery performed and to this day, years later, she remains in a coma. She never recovered.

We need to help celebrate EJ's life as his father intended to do so for his birthday. I just ask that if you or anyone you know have anything to spare or share that you please do so.  I know Eric wants to give EJ the best as he gave him in life and it is going to take a village to fulfill this mission.  If you can send love by way of donation to the McClellan family to help lighten the burden that no father should have to carry, it would be greatly appreciated. No donation is too small. I, along, with other friends of Eric's want to make sure that he gets to celebrate the apple of his eye, one last time and we cant do it alone.

As you donate, I want you to vow to be a little like EJ, every day. Be fearless. Be confident and know that you are capable of anything.

-Ask for that raise or promotion
          -Apply for that job
          -Take that job
          -Ask your crush out
          -Take that trip

Tomorrow isn't promised. Live life fearlessly. We thank you and we love you, even if you cannot donate, your well-wishes and prayers for the family will not fall on deaf ears.

Be like EJ. Be fearless.
