Guiness WorldRecord Ice Hockey Game

Donation protected
As a Canadian, I'm sure many of you can attest to the passion and joy that endless hours spent on outdoor rinks in the winter bring us, but love for ice hockey doesn't recognize international borders.

Nestled high in the Himalayas, Ladakh is an alpine desert, and the only other place in the world I have seen rival (if not surpass) the dedication to the sport of ice hockey that I have seen in Canada.  From sunrise to sunset, children and adults alike can be found at the local pond, practicing their skills and playing with their friends.

In conjunction with the Hockey Foundation (http://hockeyfoundation.org/), a registered American non-profit organization, I am raising funds to participate in the Guiness World Record highest altitude ice hockey game (http://hockeyfoundation.org/guinness-world-record).  The money raised by this fundraiser will go towards my registration fee for the game, transportation of hockey equipment across the Atlantic ocean and into the Himalayas, and towards the construction of the rink, which I will be helping to build.  After the game, the rink materials will be donated to local villages to support sporting infrastructure in the region.

I will be taking LOTS of pictures during the building process and playing time to update you on how things are going at 13,501 feet.  Help grow the game of ice hockey on an international level.  Help share the passion we feel when we step on the ice.  Help Ladakh build hockey.
