Mom's Cancer Treatment Bills

Donation protected
Cancer is a disease that affects a high a percentage of people, and unfortunately my mom Betty Heyliger has become one of those individuals.

A few months ago my mom went into surgery to remove the nasal polyps she was finally diagnosed with, which had for a while gave her trouble breathing, among other uncomfortable symptoms.   Shortly after the procedure and some lab work , her doctor gave her the news that she had stage 3 nasopharyngeal cancer (stage 4 is the worst).

Meanwhile, I was going through some personal and stressful setbacks, so she didn't tell me until after our family vacation.  Her inner strength and greater will to be a mother put me first despite what she was going through, just so that I could try to enjoy myself.  Not once during our vacation did she seem down or refrain from  having fun.  I wasn't happy that she kept it from me, but I did appreciate her motive as her daughter and I respected her as a woman of self certainty.  Leave it to a mother to hold back even the worst thing from her child just to make sure he or she is happy and healthy.

Once mom told me the news, she explained everything from the possiblilty of losing her hair to the details of the actual treatment plan.  After an anxious wait to prepare for treatment, it was time to begin in late September.  So far mom has endured daily radiation and 2 chemo treatments.  She must continue radiation and receive 1 more round of chemo in the next couple weeks.

Throughout all this time, mom has filled me in on more details that didn't sound pleasant at all.  Those details will be spared, but I will share that her treatments leave her very tired with a sore throat, inable to drive, and with a lack of taste for food.

Despite all these less than desirable things, my mom has managed to stay ridiculously positive and never lets her treatment get her down.   She's been a steady rock in the family for a long time, but even rocks need the support of the ground.

Please help me be the ground of support for my mother's treatment, because unfortunately my father and I are not financially capable to help her alone.  She herself has been unable to work for the past few years due to other outstanding injuries from her past job.  I'm sure you can only imagine the amount her medical bills are adding up to.  If you are able to donate to my mom Betty for her medical bills, I thank you in advance.  If you cannot, we completely understand and would just be greatful for your verbal support!

If you'd like to contact her, please send her a facebook message or text/call her if you have her number.  Any and all moral support from family and friends will certainly help keep her spirits up.

So far, moms' doctor says that she is responding well to the treatments.  Here's to a full recovery and no relaspe!
