Martinez Family Hurricane Relief

The Martinez family was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey in League City, just outside of Houston, TX.
Norberto, niece Sandy, and mother Maria
Over 18" of water flooded into the house of Maria, mother of 4 and grandmother of 3.
The ceiling collapsed from the weight of the water, the foundation cracked, and the walls have extensive damage.
The damage is heartbreaking and overwhelming. Everything this family has worked so hard for has been destroyed in a weekend.

Maria's car and her son's car who lives with her also flooded and are inoperable. Unfortunately this damage will not be covered by insurance.

Maroon car is her son Sebastian's.
Maria's daughter Aileen lives in nearby Dickinson, in a trailer she worked hard to buy this past year and where she is raising her 3 kids. Her trailer and car also filled with water during the storm. (Silver car and trailer behind it)
The kids just started school last week.
The family is facing the overwhelming task of figuring out how to get back to work (with no cars) and start the process of rebuilding their homes. Although they would never choose to ask for help, the fact is they need it right now. That's why I'm getting this campaign started for them.
This is a close knit, hard working family that has been devastated by this disaster, along with so many others. Any help we can providewill make a difference in the road to recovery ahead of them.
Money raised by this campaign will be used for house repairs and transportation for the family to get to work and school. We will update as more specific costs are known.

How the funds will be spent: As Houston is still in the middle of the crisis, we don't know exact costs yet, but the money will go to repairs for the house in League City and the trailer in Dickinson. The family also lost 3 cars and will need to replace them so money may be used for this purpose, depending on what they deem the biggest priority.
