In the past three months my dad started having really bad headaches and was just taking tylenol to relieve the pain. About five weeks ago it got so bad that he could not get out of bed. Which is very rare for dad because he never misses work. He always just works through it. On the second day of him staying home my mom took him to the doctor and they said he had high blood pressure and strep. So they prescribed him antibiotics. Two days later he still had not gotten any better. It seemed like he was just getting worse. So my mom took him to an urgent care and they had a cat scan done. Before my parents had even gotten home the doctor had called to have them come back because they had found a mass on the cat scan. Later that day he went for an MRI and they found that it was growing pretty rapidly. Everything started happening so fast from there. One day my dad just was not feeling good and then the next they are saying he needs surgery and it may or may not be cancer. Family and friends started coming into town to be with us and Monday morning my dad went in for Brain Surgery. We had so much support from everyone waiting with us at the hospital for my dad to get out of surgery. So many people had gotten food and drinks together for while we were waiting and just helped us stay calm. When the doctor finally came out to talk to us he said the surgery went well but my dad had a very aggressive cancer. The diagnosis was GlioBlastoma Multi stage 4. Which is not curable only treatable. Right then I knew that our lives were about to change drastically. This was going to be a battle for the rest of my dads life. While going through all of this my dad wasn't working. He is self employed and even now that the surgery is over he just isn't to work like he used to. My mom is a stay at home mom. So all our income comes from my dad's business. This week my dad is starting his radiation and chemo. I don't know how we would still be holding up and fighting through this if it wasn't for family and friends that have been there for us through it all. Texts, emails, flowers, food, etc. has been sent to us and we appreciate everything and everyone just so much. I put together this fundraiser to start an account for medical expenses that we are getting billed for and his treatments and medications. Everything is greatly appreciated. Thank everyone so much! -The Dove Family
