Jane Hansen Support Fund

Our vibrant mother, so active, hardworking and so full of life had been living in chronic pain due to bad knees. She worked hard to save up and put herself in a position financially to finally get her knees replaced so she could enjoy her golden years with friends and family pain free. She had surgery on May 21, 2014 and did great and moved into rehab where her determination of hard work and eagerness to get back to living impressed both her doctors and her physical therapists. Towards the end of her stay in rehab she developed pneumonia and upon her release from rehab she was immediately hospitalized where her health deteriorated quickly. So much so that she was in ICU in critical condition (unconscious) fighting for her life for 8 weeks. Doctors were hopeful that she would recover.  In fact, she even made it out of ICU into a step down ICU where she began to finally awaken, talk, breath on her own and eat pureed foods.  We were so elated to see her beautiful smile and tell her how much we loved her.  She couldn't believe or remember (thankfully) all she had been through.  It seemed as if she were on the road to recovery.  Sadly, after about a week in the step down unit she developed a terrible infection that ultimately took her life on August 3, 2014.  To say we are devasted is an understatement.  Our mother fought so hard to live, but her body just couldn't fight any longer. 

Thank you to all who prayed and donated money for our precious mother.  We are continuing to collect funds to cover some of her final expenses.
