Alice Needs Our Help

On Friday, March 9, 2018, our aunt, Alice Esteves, with her 2-year-old grand-daughter in her arms, watched her home of 20 years go up into flames in a two-alarm fire. We're thankful my aunt and baby cousin are safe. But our hearts continue to hurt seeing our aunt's home and memories lost–furniture, clothing, and treasured items.
My aunt has had a very difficult time in the past two years. She lost her husband and our uncle, Adriano Ivo Esteves, unexpectedly to an unknown heart condition in 2016. Since then, our aunt and cousins Hugo and Jacqueline have been dealing with the loss of our uncle and the pile of medical debt and hospital bills that came. We originally wanted to create a GoFundme to help with their medical bills but at that time we were too emotional to act.
Today, we can't sit back and not try to help my aunt in any way we can. We write this to ask for your help. My aunt Alice is safe but she has a long road ahead.
We learned that it may take up to a year for her to return home. The fire is being investigated and insurance payments will take months before they are delivered and she's in need today. My aunt has been supplementing her income by housing a foreign exchange student but with this fire, she lost that income too.
Any support you can give our aunt will help her through these last two long heartbreaking years. We appreciate your kindness in supporting my aunt during this difficult time.
With much love and gratitude, Nicole and Kelly B.
