Help Aimee Beat Ovarian Cancer

Dear Friends and Loved Ones,
My sister Aimee, a devoted mother of two teenagers, has been fighting valiantly against ovarian cancer for the past year, receiving regular chemotherapy and radiation treatments to try to banish the tumor from her body. As we all know, such treatments are incredibly taxing on both body and soul. Yet, despite this, Aimee has continued to work her waitress job and do all the loving things mothers do to keep her working class family afloat.
Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago, her husband was hit by a truck while riding his bike to his job as a cook, and his leg was badly injured. The end result is that he is now unable to work or help provide income for the family. To add insult to injury (literally), the company whose truck hit him denies it was their truck, so Aimee must hire a lawyer to seek compensation in court. They can now barely make ends meet on Aimee’s meager waitressing salary, let alone pay for her chemo treatments or cancer meds. She can barely afford her medications in the best of times, and they have no employer health insurance to buffer their expenses.
Aimee says she’s ready to give up her meds in order to pay the rent and put food on the table - but I say that is just not an option! They applied for state medical assistance, but we all know that government bureaucracies take months to process paperwork, and Aimee doesn’t have months to give them if she wants to survive.
I am personally helping Aimee as best I can within my means, but it will not be enough. I know there are caring souls among you who would be willing to help Aimee out while she and her husband wait for government assistance. I am asking, plain and simple, if you would please contribute whatever you can to help my sister keep her family going, stay on her meds, and continue her treatments so she can keep fighting this cancer ’til she beats it.
Aimee and I would be incredibly grateful for anything you can do to help her at this critical time in her life. Your help is vital to her survival.
