Help Two Black Youth Launch Our Business

Donation protected

Who are we?

My name is Rambendu Yarnlay and along with the help of my long time classmate/close friend,Mary Yeboah, we have initiated to launch our long time dream of the Drippin’ in Culture store. We are two-first generation college students, who have dreamed of bringing  this project into light starting as early as our high school days. Currently, I attend Albany State University and my friend, Mary Yeboah, attends Emory University. Even in college, we have continued to garnered ourselves in research  and have outline a business plan to bring this long dream project into life.

What do we want to do?

For the past years, my classmate, Rambendu Yarnlay and I have dreamed of starting our own business. A business that is focus on African clothing, natural skin care oil remedies and natural beauty supplies for people in our Black communities. We have done countless research, planning and  yet, we seem to be at the same start. It seems like we have been dreaming for the longest and nothing seems to be coming out of it. Regardless of us planning our business plan and even starting on building our online shop, new obstacles constantly come in the way which further slows our progress. Money! resources! Money! Resources!

We want to open our online store. Through this online Shopify store, we plan to use our creative skills to bring the latest cultural clothing, natural skin care remedies and natural beauty that are all influence by African culture. We have researched on the products that we will be making and for years have planned to bring the idea into light.

So what is the Problem?
Due to Covid, most of the plans we had in mind in regards to finance has change dramatically. We are both working hard to support our families while also struggling with our own school expenses. We need your help in raising funds to help our store “Drippin’ in Culture”.

Often times black youth lack the support and resources to elevate our dreams into a reality. We live in a community where Black entrepreneurships lack representation.  However, with your help, we can break this chain and bring the youth empowerment back. We want to inspire other black youths that they can also achieve their dreams regardless of the obstacles around them. Please help us to raise our voice and use that to raise other voices in our community!

How will the money be used? How are we going to show you the impact?

Once we reach our goal, we will buy all of the items we need to get started with producing our products and setting our brand. We have done research and know exactly what we want. The only thing stopping us is the lack of capital and support. With your help, every dime spent will be proofed with a video of us showing you all the items that the money was used to buy.

What are we buying:
-Screenprinting package for shirts

-Empty bottle Tubes for our beauty line

-Empty bottle tubes for our Natural skin remedies lime

-Materials to make our own lipstick: lipstick base, glitter, different lip balm tubes, etc.

-Food items/Materials to make our natural beauty products: Boxes of different language kinds of fruit/vegetable for our carrot oil, avocado oil, etc.
