"Never see a need without doing something about it. "  - Mary Mackillop

Dear all,

On 31st Oct 2020, Super typhoon Rolly/Goni destroyed 80% of houses inthe island, took lives, damaged livelihood, crippled transportation, cut power supplies, brought massive landslides and flood. My partner and I considered this place close to heart as this is where my extended family resides and it is one of our favourite holiday destinations.

Updates of devastation as of 17 Nov, 2020: (Source_ReliefWeb ):

People displaced: 82,900  [38,600 in 481 evacuation centres    |  44,300 being served outside of formal shelters]
Injured: 390
Missing: 6
Casualties: 25 min
Agriculture damaged from 2 typhoons: $256M combined across the region
Estimated Infrastructure damaged across the regions: $165M

My Aim is to raise fund and contribute to various Organisations in helping typhoon victims in the provision of below:

1. Family food packs ->> we have increased our target from $1k - $2k, (est. amount for 260 household x$7.5 per pack  in the San Vicente village, details and outcome on updates below >>>on 27th Dec, distribution was a success, total budget was $2067 = Php72,665...  Couldn't thank you all enough...)
2. Hygiene kits  >>>>>>>>>>>> partially included in the relief goods bags)
3. Kitchen kits
4. Face masks
5. Mats and Blankets ->>>>>>>will see if we can fit within the remaining donation balance
6. Portable Solar lights

Your donation would mean a lot for the victims no matter how small, when put together, it would bring smiles, ignite hope and resilience to move forward towards recovery from the calamities.

My plan of action is to forward the funds to Authorised Local Government Units (LGUs) who manages the relief goods distributions.  Donations will be processed via LBC express -Sydney Branch  - deposited straight to the designated Bank account or collected  by an authorised recipient from the Local Government Unit.

I will provide updates via email of remittances, photos of recipients, so please remember to leave your email or mobile number for notifications.

Currently, the island's electricity has been amazingly restored  as of the 18th Nov for some municipalities. Power lines are still being fixed to Virac, Bato, San Miguel, Baras and Gigmoto.  Majority of the northern municipalities are now reachable as road clearings continue on.  Thanks to the volunteers/assistance from mainland Power companies.

If now is not the right time to help, please share this link or forward to anyone who can. Much appreciated, thank you very much.
