A Miracle For Robert

Donation protected
Can you remember how it was when you were a child? Spending endless days playing with other children, playing basketball, climbing trees, or even just running around the schoolyard playing games with all of your friends. When you close your eyes and think about it, remember how you felt, filled with innocence and wonder about the world.

What if you could not spend your youth as a child? How would your life be then and how would it affect your life today?

Meet our son Robert. He is 2 years and 7 months old, and he dreams of running with his friends and experiencing his youth as a child.

Robert was born with a rare condition, known as Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency / Congenital Femoral Deficiency (PFFD / CFD).
I was told that there was nothing that could be done, but as a parent, I refused to give up (wouldn’t you do the same for your children?). I start looking for someone who could help my child, so we traveled with him to many hospitals around the world. First we went to Russia, and even tried other places in Europe, but no one could help our Robert.

The diagnosis sounded like a life sentence - Robert will have a prosthesis for life.
At the Institute of Prosthlistia in Moscow, they made his prosthesis, but Robert could had such difficulty walking and could not perform any daily activities, as the prosthesis was very uncomfortable. Robert constantly cried and constantly asked to remove it.

He had no choice but to crawl. The difference in length between the his two legs is already 4 inches, and, as he grows, that difference will continue to increase.

Finally, after a long and frustrating search, we found our answer from God - Dr. Paley from West Plam Beach Florida Children's Hospital/St. Mary’s Medical Center.

The doctor examined Robert's medical case and told me: "I fully assure that your child will get on his feet." Dr. Paley’s words answered our prayers to God.

We’ve already taken the first step towards achieving Robert’s dream. During this past November of 2017, Robert had his first operation. This reconstructing and stabilizing his hip joint and knee joint (superhip and superknee). Finally our first hurdle has passed, thanks to God.

Here is a short video about him after the first operation:

Robert needs another operation, but we don’t have health insurance to cover the treatment. Our family isn’t poor, but we can’t afford to pay for this operation for our son by ourselves.

Our only hope is the charity of people and the grace of God. It is very difficult for us to ask for help. I've never thought in my life that I would have to do this, but, as a mother, we can only do everything we have to do need for our child.

Any amount that you can donate to our cause will be so greatly appreciated so that we can realize Robert's dream and he will be able to walk and to have the same childhood that we all so dearly cherish.

Thank you for your kindness,
Anna.
