Help my family

Donation protected
My name is Emily Martinez and I’m currently trying to support 2 children with the help of my husband, Jose. We have a 14 year old daughter named Desiree, and a 16 year old daughter named Priscilla. Ever since Priscilla was a toddler, shes had multiple complications with her liver that has caused a multitude of hospital admissions and medical bills. Seeing your child going in and out of hospitals from a very young age takes a toll on not only a mothers heart but a kids hope. Though these many ER visits brought moments of weakness, we always regained our hope from the strength brought by Priscilla. As of today, her strength and persistence has pulled through and she has received a liver transplant. Though it is too soon to see how well the recovery will be in the long term, right now she is experiencing a healthy and strong recovery post-surgery. As a mother with 2 children, one being in and out of hospitals, it has been hard financially supporting my family. Prior to Priscillas surgery, I had to quit my job to make the time to care for her during the surgery and recovery process. In addition to leaving my job, my husband, Jose, experienced a heart attack a week before Priscillas surgery that put him in the hospital for several days. My husband doesn’t have the health insurance or flow of income to pay for his and Priscillas medical bills. Along with taking care of Priscilla after her surgery, I’d have to care for my husband on my own. Without any stable income coming from either end, looking after my family while keeping up to date with bills, mortgage, and debts doesn’t seem like a possible reality. We live in a high case COVID-19 town in Northern New Jersey. With two people at extreme risk living in the household, the fear of not being able to take proper care of them and exposing them to the virus is higher than I imagined. If I can’t come up with the money to support my family, we would not only be at risk of losing our home and car, but finding a place to stay and house 4 people during this pandemic would be nearly impossible.
