Going to get a new heart. (I hope)
I'm in need of a new heart and time is running out...
My name is James Dutil. My wife and I have been married for 31 years. we have 4 kids and a whole bunch of grandkids and we're starting on great-grandkids, they are all the best thing that's ever happened to me.
I drove a truck for 29 years. My wife and I drove teams for 4 years. Then my wife got hurt very badly on the job and had to retire. Just a few years later I had a massive heart attack. Our plans of working together and making lots of money were shot.
The medical cost were getting to be a real burden but we were making it. I kept telling my wife not to worry everything would be OK, and this would be a great learning example for the kids and grandchildren.
But now after hanging in there for over 10 years, this 56 year old body is giving up on me. The doctors say I need a new heart, But I wont live long enough because the waiting list is about 2 years. But they would like to implant a LVAD (left-ventricle assist device) as bridge to my heart transplant.If I get this done, I will last until they can find a heart for me. 
I would be hospitalized for 21 days for the 1st procedure. 7 days in intensive care.
But, and this is the extreamly hard part. I'm out of money. I have health insurance through my disability but it does not cover a lot. My wife would like to be by my side but we can't afford the room or the cost of her traveling and food. And she is also disabled now after her injuries from work. We have a lot of help from our kids, they are the greatest. But no one can help us with cost. If I can't find some help somewhere I'll be going through this alone, I'm ok with being alone until I get out but my wife is going through a lot emotionally over this whole thing. I can't stand to see her this way, it's worse on me than knowing what I'm going to have to go through. If I don't get some help fast Im not going to be able to get through all this.
If you can and it's not a burden on you, please help. anything will be a huge help even reposting this.
