My son Tucker was born on March 3rd 2008 with moderate sensorineural hearing loss. At nine months he was fitted bilaterally with hearing aids and has been attending The Moog Center for Deaf Education since he was 18 months. Early and consistent access to sound in partnership with highly specialized education has enabled him to thrive in his environment.
As time passes and technology improves, the opportunity for Tucker to hear even more increases. Unfortunately that opportunity can come at a great financial burden for families such as mine. I would love more than anything to begin this next academic year by purchasing him a new set of hearing aids and compatible FM equipment, but our insurance does not cover any of the costs associated. We are hoping you will consider making a charitable donation to help our family take this next crucial step to ensure our son isn't left behind in obsolete technology.
