Healing for Honkey kitty

UPDATE:

Honkey kitty is defying all odds!  The doctors are amazed to say the least.  It shows just how badly he wants to live.  There is a chance he can come home this weekend with the understanding he will have to go back daily for wound care for quite some time.   With each setback, Honkey has come roaring back with a strong will to live and survive this gruesome attack.  

So many of you have given, strangers and loved ones alike.  And I assure you, we will forever discuss and remember just how profoundly your support has affected our family.

If you have a desire to give monetarily, it will not go unnoticed or unappreciated.  If for some reason you can't give monetarily but can give prayers and healing intentions, we are oh so grateful for them!

This past weekend our beloved kitty Honkey was brutally attacked by a stray dog.  He somehow managed to crawl his way all the home, covered in blood and dying.  But this sweet baby made his way home!

We rushed him to Animal ER and has since been receiving care there.  This little guy is a fighter!  Given the fact that since he knew if he could get home to us, we would be able to save him, we've felt pressed to do all we can to support him in his battle for life.

He's turned a major corner in his battle with sepsis.  On paper this kitty should not be alive...  But he is!  Currently his wounds are turning necrotic (dying flesh). He still needs surgery to clean wounds and insert feeding tube.  Often animals stop eating due to trauma it's difficult to get them to begin eating again.  Thus this is affecting his liver.

Cats like Honkey come along once in a lifetime.  He's not your normal cat, let alone animal.  He's a special, special boy and on top of that, he's our child.

All too often, loving pet owners choose to prolong an animal’s life who is clearly ready and wanting to pass peacefully.  Each step of the way he’s made it abundantly clear to us and the doctors that he not only wants to live but is fighting to do so!

No one ever wants to be in a position to ask for monetary help.  But here we are.

We've cut corners where we can, while maintaining what he needs in order to facilitate his body's natural healing process.  

But as you know, this love and medical treatment comes with a high price tag.  So here we are, asking for any help you can offer.

As of now, the vet bill is $10,000.  The amount went up from $8000 as each day in hospital is costly and he'll need to go back daily for wound care.

If you can't give monetarily, please do not feel guilty!  This is one of those times when your thoughts, prayers, and healing intentions are greatly appreciated!
