Let's Help Ed

Hello Friends, Family, and Friends and Family of our Friends and Family, thank you so much for looking into our GoFundMe page that has been created for Ed.

As you may or may not know (I’ve been trying to update people on FB & mom has been keeping contact with some via text), Ed (my step-dad) is VERY sick. He has been in the hospital (Kaiser) for just over 3 weeks now, and the doctors (there are SEVERAL working on his case right now) are clueless as to what is going on.
He has been sick for WELL over a month and he's consistently in and out of high fevers, sweats profusely, and is growing very weak. His blood pressure, body proteins, potassium/iron levels are are low, and his heart rate is up.

They have ran test, after test, after test, with no sign of the problem. They have tested for a variety of viruses, meningitis, typhoid fever, HIV, malaria, west nile and lymphoma, just to name a few... (Seriously, if you see the list of things they've tested for, you'd be just as baffled).

At this point in time, they believe the cause to be Lymphoma Cancer, however, they cannot appropriately test for it, as the lymph nodes they are looking to test, are too close to a major artery, and with his thinning blood, they are worried that with one error, they can cause him to bleed out, or not to be able to heal. Additionally, they'd have to open him up entirely to reach the lymph nodes in question.

As of last week, they did a biopsy on an easier accessible lymph node, however the results came back inconclusive (just like all the others) and they aren't ready to rule it out because it wasn't really one that they were concerned with.
Yesterday they extracted spinal fluid and today they are looking to do a bone marrow test.

They have been doing several blood transfusions to try and keep him strong, and well enough to test, but it's just very hard.

As of now, they are diagnosing him with: INFECTION AND FEVER ON UNKNOWN ORIGIN...basically, they know nothing & can't figure it out. He has NUMEROUS doctors working with him right now, but all of them are baffled, saying that typically, they can figure it out within a week & start treatment, but that they've never really gone this far with ABSOLUTELY no indication as to what is going on.
When asked how long his body can continue on this path, the doctors responded, "We REALLY need to find the origin SOON!" Mom is going to have to fill out the health care wishes packet with Ed today, something that we have been putting off & trying to avoid. According to one of the doctors, his conditions have now become life threatening...This is not good & very hard to hear.

Many of you have asked if there is anything that you can do to help. Ed and mom have talked about it, and Ed is very concerned about his finances and his life when he gets out (medical bills, rent, etc...We are staying very optimistic and want to remain positive).

He has been off of work for over 6 weeks, and his doctors just gave him an off work order through July 22nd. If anyone is in the position to help out, for ANY amount, big, small, or just through well wishes and prayer, it would be greatly appreciated. His worse fear besides not coming home is not being financially able to do so.

Please help in any way that you can, large or small, and continue to PRAY and send any well wishes, vibes, or any other good ju-ju his way! He needs it, and momma needs it. They are staying strong, but having your guy's love and support makes them THAT much stronger.

Both mom & Ed are HUUUUUUGE believers in Prayer, and feel that your love and support have got them this far. Please continue to pray for them.
