We are, of course, far from the only hospitality staff to be affected by the current shut down in New York City.
However, while the ramifications of this pandemic have only recently been felt by some, our staffed at Hutong suffered an immediate plummet in income weeks before the official shutdown of all the bars & restaurants due to the spread of Covid19.
With few guests, our shifts hours paychecks were slashed.
If you have the resources to help us out in any way, every cent would be appreciated -if you cannot donate, please post and share. In your own community, order deliver from places who are not using a third party service- send those meals to grocery store staff, to hospitals, to shelters.

Undocumented workers everywhere have no safety net. Managers have had to cancel their weddings, newly promoted Captains who stuck out months as Servers to provide for their families are now strapped. Anyone who had money deducted from their checks for Unlimited Metrocards long now for that one hundred and twenty dollars for food.
On the floor we tried not to gush or hover of the few souls who came to dine on Ma La Chili Prawns, post selfies of themselves in the shimmering champagne hallway, or order the Bao & Soy dessert even before they selected drinks.
The numerous events in our private dining rooms scrapped as fearful companies banned business dinners.
The the cooks, with little to do tossed together another snack without tickets leaping out of the printer. Barely serving 50 guests some nights, the porters scrubbed down the trash cans, no dishes coming in to the pit. The one polisher remaining cloth in hand hoping some glass might need attention.
This is a frightening time but we are Hu-Throng Strong and with you help, we can pay our rents, feed our children, and in turn help support others in our hospitality community.
