HOPE for Heather Hampton

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,

Most of you have heard Heather's story and have been moved by her faith and strength but if you haven't, here is a summary...

In the fall of 2010, Heather had a small red spot on her shoulder surgically removed and it was found to have been stage I melanoma. She was told that everything had been removed completely, nearby lymph nodes were clear, and there was only a 1-3% chance that it would ever come back. She was just to continue her regular checkups every 6 months as a precaution.

On July 14th 2012, Heather married the love of her life, (and whom would soon prove to be, her guardian angel) Steve. On their honeymoon in Kauai, she was putting on sunscreen one day and felt small bumps underneath the skin on her stomach. Once they returned home, she went to the doctor to have them checked out and received some shocking news: she was diagnosed with stage IV melanoma.

Heather has been fighting this disease since September 2012. She has been blessed to have had access to IL-2 and Yervoy treaments, surgical radiation, chemotherapy and has recently been accepted into a clinical trial through Vanderbilt University in which she will receive anti PD-1 and Zometa every 3 weeks. She continues the daily battle through prayer, diet, exercise, and a positive attitude. Everyone that I have told Heather and Steve's story to has been so inspired by their faith in God and in each other that they want to support them in this fight. I created this donation site for them so that we can support them financially as well as emotionally. Your donations through this site will go directly to Heather and Steve to assist with medical and travel expenses.

I will close with Heather's favorite verse, Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future ".

Thank you all for your love, prayers and support.
