AES 4th Grader's Library Campaign

The Hood County Public Library is growing!! Acton Elementary School 4th graders are excited to be part of this much needed addition! We are hosting a Pancake Breakfast on April 13 at the Library from 9-11a.m. You can join us there, donate here, or do both!
***LOCATION UPDATE ***
New location will be County offices (Annex 1) at 1410 W. Pearl Street (just west of the Justice Center, where people vote). Time is unchanged: 9-11a.m.
Donations will go toward the Library expansion project. The project broke ground in January of 2018. The expansion, on the Shanley Park side of the library, will add 10,000 square fee including a second story! Our efforts are just a part of the $500,000 campaign to fund the project. A larger library will include additional books, videos, audio books, DVDs, and reference materials. There will be additional public use computers, meeting rooms that local non-profits can use for free, and additional reading and study areas. These changes will benefit the county in general and students in particular.
Our plan is to meet the $5,000 goal before the end of school so we can celebrate as a grade level before summer scatters us.
Commissioner Barton and his team have been very supportive by allowing our student council representatives to present our pancake breakfast service project idea. They immediately accepted our offer. The Lion's Club and HEB have also partnered with AES fourth graders for the pancake breakfast. It is so exciting to work directly with local county and library officials on this project. All GISD students are involved in community service projects. We love Granbury!!
