My beloved Grrs Spinal Surgery & Sierra Chemo debt

November 23rd 2019 a semi truck veered into my lane and Grr flew into the dashboard and fell to the ground. Two days later he was in pain, walking with a hunched back, could not lift his neck, and lameness in his front legs. Vet diagnosed him with IVDD. They said he could become paralyzed at any moment. He was on strict cage rest for 6 weeks, no stairs, ramps, or jumping. I carried him outside day and night to go potty to keep his back straight for a couple months. Medical management and cage rest helped for about a month and then he got worse once the prednisone was finished. For weeks he was crying every night in worse pain and I felt so helpless. I did an ultrasound and made sure his internal organs were okay. I had to wait 2 weeks to get him an MRI watching him cry in pain all night and day. So many sleepless nights trying to comfort my little Grr. The MRI showed two herniated discs compressing his spinal cord/nerve. I decided to move forward with surgery on  2/20/20 with a gamble not knowing if it would truly help him. Luckily, the surgery was a success and he is back to his normal self!! Between all the medications, ER visits, diagnostics, and surgery everything cost 8,078.89. I feel very blessed to have more time with Grr. He has been my everything for 11 years. I would do anything for him! 

I had Grr on the Banfield wellness pet plan spending about $45 a month for his entire life. Unfortunately, this in house pet "insurance" did not cover anything at the specialist office. Which is why I am reaching out for help.
