Greene Team - Support Scott’s Fight

Many of you know Scott and Sue (Clark) Greene.  Scott grew up in Roxbury, NY, while Sue grew up in Pine Hill, and attended OCS, Boiceville, NY, with us.  They live in Glenford, just celebrated 25 years of marriage in July 2017, and have two children (actually young adults), Brian and Molly.

It’s never easy to ask for help, so we’re asking for them.  It’s difficult enough to deal with cancer once, but this is Scott’s third time in eight years.  His first diagnosis of Non-Hodgkins Large B cell Lymphoma was in 2009, followed by treatment and an 18-month remission.  In 2011, the cancer returned, and in the fall of that year, Scott had a life-saving stem cell transplant at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, which brought about a 6-year remission.  In November, 2017, they received the news that Scott’s cancer had returned again.

Scott is a self-employed contractor, and unable to work during treatment and recovery periods.  Even with health coverage through Sue’s work, there are still costs with every appointment and every treatment.  There are co-pays and deductibles, the cost of travel and parking at the hospital, prescriptions that aren’t covered, time off work, etc.  These aren’t expenses that anyone can plan for, and especially not when you are paying a mortgage, have a child in college, and bills to pay that just seem to increase over time. 

So, we’re asking for your help...for Scott and Sue.  Whether it be through a financial donation here to offset some of their bills associated with his diagnosis and treatment, or a donation of a good or service for the fundraiser that we will be doing on March 3, 2018, or just by showing up and supporting the breakfast at the Reservoir United Methodist Church in Ashokan on the 3rd.

Together, every little bit helps.  Thank you to everyone for their support...Scott and Sue will be forever grateful.
