Green Card for Kacy

Donation protected
Kasha "Kacy" came to the United States from St. Lucia, a sovereign island country in the eastern Caribbean Sea, to start her education in 2010. She was sponsored and had student visa.

Kacy is not of the personality to ask for assistance. She is determined and feels obligated to work out her own challenges, but as I have come to know the intricate details of her story and situation, I felt compelled to offer this as a means to get passed a formidable road block to her progress...finishing payment on the green card fees.

The last few years have been filled with unexpected challenges that were not congruent with her performances in life.  Her husband had been working various jobs out of state for most of their marriage, which has left her handling much on her own. She has two little children now: her precious daughter Serena (3) and her darling newborn son, Kaison, born in January 2015 (see photos below).  Application for her to obtain a green card was initiated at the appropriate time, but due to unfortunate conditions, outside of her control, payments toward that application ceased over a year ago and she has been left in an isolated and unpredictable situation.

Kacy has realized the future, her well-being and her children's, is solely in her hands now and she needs to obtain the credentials required so she can be independent. She is very grateful for the compassion of those she has come to know, who have donated basic furniture and offered to give her rides at times, whereas mostly, she walks on foot.

Kacy's green card application is with an immigration attorney and ready to submit, but she no longer has resources to pay the fees outstanding. $1070 are left for filing fees and $1770 for legal fees. Her paperwork cannot be submitted until these fees are paid. And without a green card, she cannot obtain a driver’s license, job, or apply for services that many abandoned women and mothers can use.

I have come to know and love this young woman and her children through her friendship with my daughter. She is a gentle, strong woman who has been though many experiences that could have very well contributed to a negative character. Instead, she remains hopeful but extremely compromised in circumstances. Kacy is a gem; well disciplined, loyal, kind, and dependable. Through Go Fund Me,  I hope we can provide her the support she requires to achieve her short term needs.

This platform is being used to solicit donations that will cover legal fees associated with finally releasing her green card application.  Any excess will be extended to her for the attainment of basic tools that allow one to engage in progress (i.e., internet service, her own phone line, maybe a computer).  Then she can start moving forward to become independent and have rescources made available so she can support her children with a job, continued education, drivers license, etc.
