I'm about to jump into the most exciting project I have ever imagined and I would really like you to come with me. Allow me to introduce myself first. My name is Gráinne and I like music very much. I write songs because the words allow me to be free, and I sing these songs so that others can join me.
When I was small, I would plague my Mam & Dad to listen to me play the keyboard, tin whistle, to sing and even make them laugh with my attempt at Irish dancing). Now, I'm a grown up who is writing songs about keeping a clean mind, making daisy chains and losing my clothes in the sea. I have been touring around Ireland for the last year, sharing my music with others and hearing their stories too. Many people have asked me for a copy of my CD but I don't have one. It's is a costly venture, which is why I need your help.
Here’s why…
Part 1
My aim is to record four original songs in a studio in Kells (Co.Meath), include other musicians (potentially) for guitar, drums, harmonica, backing vocals, piano, violin and flute. I have chosen a reputable studio with years of experience in music production, as this EP will stay with me (and you) for as long as we live. What is an EP? EP stands for extended play record, like a single but with four songs instead of one (if time and money allows, I would like to include a fifth, and maybe even sixth song). On this occasion, the music will be pressed onto a CD rather than vinyl.
Part2
The CD will be packaged up in special illustrations by a local artist with some very nice colours and imagery from the songs. These will be pressed and packaged in Ireland and delivered to you by your local postman, wherever that may be.
The Sums
40% of the funds will go towards studio time.
4% of the funds will go towards releasing the EP online.
48% of the funds will go towards producing CD’s to send to all of you (including design, postage and packaging).
8% of the funds will go to gofundme fees (5%) and banking charges (3%).
Your help in getting this CD made would mean the world to me. I love music because it makes people happy and I want to continue to share it with everyone I meet. Thank you.
