My name is Chrystal and I’m hoping to raise some money for my grandpa. My grandma recently passed away after a lifelong battle with a bad heart along with severe dementia, which eventually led to hospice and her death in September. My grandpa is beyond grief-stricken and struggling emotionally, mentally, and financially. When I tell you there is no better example of growing up with true love than my grandparents, I’m not even being dramatic. My grandparents are self-made people; both came from meager backgrounds. They’ve worked hard for everything they have. My grandpa worked at a machine shop for over 41 years, but being a mom-and-pop business, they didn’t have retirement. My grandma received a small retirement from the city of Wichita. Upon her passing, we found out Grandpa will receive half of her monthly benefit from them. But even with that, his bills are just above what his income will be from his Social Security and her retirement. I was very reluctant to post this and refrained from doing so until a dear friend of mine talked me into it. I am wanting to surprise Grandpa, so if you know him in real life, please do not tell him about this until we can get all the funds raised to help him. I’m going to put an itemized list down below, so people will know that this is legitimate. I am just truly wanting to help an elderly man who did nothing but love his wife and support her.
