Who am I?
Hey guys my name is Gonzalo Alvarez and I create comics, illustrations, and video games.  I'll be graduating this Fall 2017 from Lamar University and have been granted a life changing opportunity to show my game at E3 in Los Angeles, and go on a research trip to Mexico for my upcoming thesis, but I need help getting there.

Why I need your help!

I am asking for your donation to help me with travel costs to attend both of these opportunities that will shape my career as an artist and entrepreneur. I was raised in a low-income household and as a college student I put as much of my time into my career which leaves very little room for multiple sources of income..

Where am I going? 

I was able to raise enough money to attend E3 in Los Angeles for my video game, BORDERS  , a game about immigration that recieved international attention, and it has provided me with potentional job opportunities.

I am now traveling to Yucatan and Mexico City on July 10th-July 22nd with my muse and partner, Grace Chadwick, to research and collect imagery of the Aztec/Mexican culture in order to successfully create my vision for my thesis , The Legend of Polloman, a Mexican fantasy comic. 

I will be exploring the pyramids of Uxmal, Chichen Itza, Ik Kil, Teotihucan, local towns  and documenting the local stories to make this as rich of a comic as possible. 

Not only is it a project to showcase the beauty of Latin American folklore, but a story that deals with bullying, isolation, and cultural barriers.My goal is to create an exciting and relatable universe for young kids and the latino community to connect with .

 Attending this trip would provide the inspiration, reference material, and experiences needed to make this the best it could be.
