Team AJ
My son AJ is an awesome 9 yr old, who in July 2012, was diagnosed with a rare and only recently discovered severe immune deficiency disorder known as DOCK8. AJ is one of a few hundred cases in the world and the first and only person in Nebraska with this diagnosis.
The only current treatment for DOCK8 is a bone marrow
transplant (BMT). Without it, AJ would likely live an extremely short life span as most with the disorder succumb to an infection or
squamous cell carcinoma (skin cancer).
This summer A.J. will undergo surgery and chemotherapy leading up to his BMT in June. With all the treatment involved, recovery can take up to a year.
During this time our family of six will see a substantial increase in living expenses. Your donations will insure me the ability to stay by AJ's side throughout treatment, allow Eamon to take unpaid time off when necessary to be with AJ and our other three children, and most importantly allow AJ to continue to have the best care possible.
