Give Back to Bertram

A Spring Update ... THANK YOU!!! So much coming together to make this gift possible.  Bertram's trip is planned for the fall, we will soon be buying tickets for Septmeber or October :)  We have received a gift of donated miles, and have lowered our fundraising goal a bit in reflection.  Still wanting to take part or know others in Bertram's circle who do? You still have time!  June 1st is the final day for our project. On June 1st, we will close the GoFundMe, and give Bertram our collective gift.  Please feel free to contact Ryan or I with any questions you may have.                Many, Many Thanks for making this possible!!!                          We couldn't do it without each of you.                                                     ~ ~ ~  As the new year begins with new goals and challenges, Ryan Scott and I are sending an invitation to help us with a goal to celebrate and give back to the King of Givers, Bertram Chatham, who has touched and inspired countless lives.  Bertram has inspired both Ryan and I through a big sparkle in Bertram's eye, Camp.  As a camp director, teacher, mentor, community organizer, dad, brother, grandpa, uncle, business analyist, (just to name a few) there are many avenues and forms Bertram's giving of time, energy, perspective and encouragement have touched our lives.  As some may know, Bertram has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) which has led to some mobility changes in his life. His secret wish? To travel to Paris! Help us help Bertram to realize this dream as he has helped so many realize their own. We hope to send him on an adventure abroad and help with a medical bill or two. We have an incredible opporunity to collectively celebrate someone we love!  We invite you to participate in our (once secret, but no longer...we needed Bertram's contacts list!) endeavor to send he and his wife Ceil on a 10-14 day trip to a city that holds a special place in Betram's life and heart.  How? Pariticpate in any way you can...donating $5, $10, $20, $50 or whatever you are called to help us remind Bertram how much he has touched our lives.  Feel like writing Bertram a letter? Bravo!!Let Bertram know in writing how he has touched your life. We are also  collecting letters to give Bertram as a documented reminder how he has touched our lives and how much we care. Feel free to write a messege in the go fund me message box, facebook page, or email letters to me, Claire Roberts or Ryan Scott by June 25th.   Feeling traditional? Snail mail them by June 15th (message me for the address).   Because of his body's new needs, Bertram will need to fly with a little extra space to move around. Ryan and I are looking for comfortable and economical lodging in Paris that will allow them to cook some meals, enjoy their own space, and is located near public transportation for any outings. The less walking, the better! We have found some Airbnb options, but are open to any leads from the greater community.  It takes a village, and Bertram's village is a large one...help us spread the word by emailing, tweeting, and posting this mission on facebook.  We will be posting on the Facebook page with updates and FUNdraising challenges.
