American Music Abroad Trip

I'm Giovanni DiLorenzo, a sophomore at Lakota West High School in West Chester, Ohio.  My passion in life is playing music.  I currently sit first chair tuba in our highest orchestra, SymphonicWinds.  This chair is normally held by a senior, but through hard work and passion to play, I was able to audition and secure first chair as a sophomore.  

This is placement earned me a recommendation to play for American Music Abroad.  This organization takes high school students over seas to play music in Europe for 2 1/2 weeks in places where the great musicians played, lived and wrote.

My mom and I are trying to raise money to send me on this trip.  We have raise some of the money, but need help to make the trip a reality.

After high school I intend to major in music at a local college and become a band director and educator.  This trip will allow me to see and learn about the history of music first hand.  I will also have the opportunity to play in large venues for large numbers of people in places that bring the musical masters to life.

Without your help and support, I will not be able to go on this trip to further my musical education and experience.

I am grateful to my family and friends who have already helped me raise the first part of the money.  I also want to say a special thank you to my friends band moms that are helping me by selling their jewelry for my trip.

Last but not least, I want to say thank you to all of you for reading my request and donating to my trip.  Every penny counts and it will be used to help me pass the passion of music on to others.
