Ghana Field School- Summer 2015

I have been accepted into the 2015 Anthropology Summer field school! We will be going to a northern part of Ghana (Kaluri), Africa, and working with children in an after school program. (Above photo was taken by another student who went there last year.)

More details about what we will be ableto do exactly will come later, but I have spoken with Father Kala (of Greenville Catholic Church - a native Ghanaian) and these children could still use some help. Our Anthropology group hopes to be able to help them in their journey of building better education and quality of life.

We are fundraising in an effort to pay for the costs of travel, including a place to stay and food to eat while we are there, but we hope to raise extra, in order to be able to give extra (such as packing two bags: one with our stuff, and another with stuff to donate/leave there).

My goal is to raise at least $3,500.

I will be accepting donations from now until the Spring, but the sooner we purchase plane tickets the less travel will cost, and the more we can give, so the sooner I can come up with that cost, the better.

I am excited more than I can say at the moment. I am honored and proud to be given this opportunity, and look forward to expanding horizons both in my life and in the lives of others.
