Study Abroad to Accra, Ghana

Hi, I'm Rebecca Williams and I am a freshman at the University of Texas in Austin. I currently have a GPA of 3.7 and made the Dean's Honor List during the 2016 Fall Semester. The tuition is very high, but I have a strong passion to study abroad in Accra, Ghana as a Maymester. A Maymester is traveling and studying after the spring semester during the summer. The Maymester is an African and African Diaspora Studies that will be dealing with Community and Social Development.

Even though my major is Radio/Tv/Film, I want to connect with my true culture. I understand negative images of the African Diaspora has been inaccurate. It is my duty to help rebuild communities on a domestic and foreign level. I just want to inspire and challenge other people to use their skills and talents in a positive way.
