For the last 7 years, I have been working on a self-funded project in Guatemala on Maya Spirituality. "El Tiempo de no Tiempo" (The Time of no Time) The project, has indeed become my life.
My hope is to extend these images far and wide. Slowly, but surely, this is becoming a reality. Last December, I was the first forigner to be awarded a show at the National Palace in Guatemala... and there is a new show in the works for 2014. My hopes are to eventually make a book of the project. ( 50% of all proceeds from the exhibits (and the future book) go directly to the people and communities in the images.)
The Maya people, and especially their customs and practices, have been in oppressed and discriminated against for the last 500 years.
This project is fiercely dedicated to breaking down the barriers and misconceptions surrounding Maya spirituality. Endeavoring to allow the viewers to see and feel the beauty, strength, and extraordinary purity of faith. To realize that we are all one.
I am reaching out in order to fund a "new" used camera.
My old camera has finally given out. Kaput.
It's less expensive to buy a good used camera than to have my old one fixed. I am hoping to purchase a good quality, used canon eos from B&H.
Every donation, no matter how small, is so greatly appreciated.
I can not find words to express how grateful I am, better with pictures! If you would like me to send you one of my images, it will be my greatest pleasure. Let me know!
~Thank you ~ Matyox ~ Gracias ~
