Mission Haiti 2016

God has nudged the Gelpis to serve the orphans and communities in Haiti!

I can’t remember exactly what year it was that we introduced our children to the mission field, but each week long trip or day trip spent serving, we knew God planted us(and affirmed us) each time there. Since the boys were younger, we each have served either with adult mission trips or youth trips locally in our community, and all over the U.S. We have done construction, worked in community gardens, served in food banks, and most importantly built relationships with all different types of people, sharing about God’s love. I believe my children are learning how valuable and precious people are especially to The Lord, in spite of their economic or physical circumstances and it’s our humanitarian responsibility to care for one another. It amazes me how their(our)stories are being built and how they are saying yes to this life changing experience! They have loved, and served so well being the hands and feet of Jesus. I am sharing this with you to humbly ask for partial support for our family. Our older boys are currently in college and our youngest is in high school. God has moved our heart ,(Yes, one united heart ,all of us moved to go!) as a family of 5 this time, to travel internationally together and bless and serve the people and orphans of Haiti. We will be working in the orphanage, teaching, and many other project opportunities in this community.Serving as a family would mean so much!

We are praying and stepping out in faith that God will clear this financial path. Our church is also amazing and supportive(spiritually and financially) of the trip and members called to go.

My husband traveled to Haiti with a group last year and was blessed so much by the mission trip and the orphans and residents there.

The trip costs $1300 per person ,which covers airfare,lodging,and food.(not including Passports and travel vaccinations)We are hoping to make final payments by the end of May.

If you are unable to support financially, please don’t feel obligated! God will provide! Your prayers also are coveted!

Matthew 25 34-40

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
