School Expansion project

In recent years, due to the expansion of Garden Fields to become a three-form entry school, we have been very fortunate to have a spare classroom that we have been able to use as a music room.

However from September 2021 this will need to become a classroom. The classroom has been a fantastic venue from which to teach music and also to store our large and ever growing collection of musical instruments.

Even now, with this space, we have to split our children between this room and our library in order to accommodate all of our children. This is because we often split our classes so that we can have 2 high quality lessons with smaller groups of children. Miss Wray has a great teaching ‘music team’ now which enables us to do this now including Miss Hayden who teachers recorders and guitar specialist and teaching assistant Mr Harvey.

If we can purchase a new double room music studio we can not only continue to provide excellent music teaching and experiences for our children but also provide a space for peripatetic music lessons and even for hiring to the local community.

Music is such an important part of school life at Garden Fields – please help us to at least keep it this way and ultimately make it even better!
