Build a home for a Family: Romania

Dear Family and Friends,
It's been a snowy winter here in New England and I am welcoming warmer weather! I am especially excited for the summer because I will be participating in a mission trip with my church,Trinity Evangelical Church of North Reading, to Stănișești, Romania.
Stănișești is a small, remote village three hours north of Bucharest (the capital of Romania). We will build a house for a father and his nine children who lost their mother two years ago. Currently they live in a small home away from the village (See photos below of their current living conditions). The house is only 500 square feet for all ten family members, and it is so far from town that the children aren’t able to attend school. The new land and house we will build is in the village and they "will" be able to attend school.
We will be doing a ‘blitz-build’, which means we will complete construction of the house in one week! We will arrive on Saturday, July 11th, and will dedicate the house to the family on Friday, July 17th. It will be a lot of work in a short amount of time, but it will be well worth the effort to see the father and children’s faces when they move into their new home.
We will be working with a local Pastor that lives in Bacău, Romania, named Pastor Marian. He established the Christian church, Biserica Sfânta Treime, or Trinity Bacău, as we call it. Marian’s desire is to establish a church in Stănișești. By building this home, he is helping the community to see and understand the love of Jesus Christ. I am excited to be part of a mission that reaches people who don’t currently know God. God is such an important part of my life, I look forward to being a demonstration of His love.
Trinity Evangelical Church is raising the funds to purchase the land and building materials. Each person that participates in the trip will need to pay their own expenses for airfare, hotel and food. I would love it if you could participate in this mission by supporting me to raise the money for travel expenses and the project. My personal goal is to raise $5,000. Any funds that I raise above my personal travel costs will be put towards the purchase of building materials, land, and for supporting the travel of others.
