From Peak to Plate (Kilimanjaro 5.895 m)

In October, we, 15 colleagues, will stand at the start of the profound adventure to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, a 5.895 m tall mountain. Besides the personal physical and mental challenges, this is also an opportunity to shed light on an urgent issue to which we see the potential to contribute.

Beyond the summit of Kilimanjaro lies a larger story: that of the tireless Tanzanians who battle on a daily basis against poverty and malnutrition. Right at the foot of the mountain are the Elizabeth and Uhai Center of the Florentina Foundation, a beacon of hope for Masai children and young women, where they receive opportunities for education and training. The center's Food Program aims to combat hunger and make the community self-sufficient.

Our mission? Collaborate with this inspiring program. We want to raise money for banana trees (€10), goats (€35), and cows (€500) for long-term food provision, and in the form of everyday nutritional needs like rice and flour. Upon our arrival in Tanzania, we will hand over the raised amount to the Elizabeth and Uhai Center, hoping to contribute to a greener and food-abundant future for the local community.
