The Francis Family Hurricane Laura Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Hurricane Laura hit Lake Charles, Louisiana on August 27, 2020 with 150 mph sustained winds the area has been devastated. Right now none of our relatives (including our family matriarch who turned 91 the day Laura hit) have power or water and they have limited access to good and services due to downed power lines around their  homes. Estimates are that it could take up to a month before power and water is fully restored.  We're trying to get them evacuated to a better housing situation as they recover from this.

At this point we've heard that most of our relatives are "ok" and had minimal damage but others have lost businesses and sustained significant damage to their homes. Some are still waiting to hear about damage to their homes and are unable to return at the moment.

This page was created to support members of the Earnest Francis family as they navigate recovery efforts.  Monies will be put towards buying food, hotel stays, covering insurance deductibles, buying generators and gas for them, replacing items and other odds and ends as they rebuild from Hurricane Laura's devastation.

Pictures and updates will be shared as we get them.

Thank you so much for supporting our loved ones efforts to get back on their feet!
